Hospital Flower Delivery

Women jumped at the sight of a fresh flower delivery person entering the office. Within an instant the first person shouts out the question, "Who are they for?" This time the flowers are in the familiar long, slender box with a ribbon and bow attached and the speculation as to its contents is already pretty much over in the minds of most of the office's population. The deliveryman asks the front receptionist about a particular name, but asks in such a way as to keep the ladies in the dark about the destination of and the reason for the obvious rose box. The delivery man keeps walking down the row of cubicles with all the ladies following, until he turns into a corner office where a recently widowed woman in the late fifties works as a supervisor. The deliveryman verifies the woman's name, leaves the box on the desk while the women crowd the doorway, waiting to see the supervisor open the box of red roses. Urged by the office workers to hurry and open the box, she slowly unties the ribbon and opens the top, only to hear a gasp from all the women, for the dozen roses were not red, but deep blue!

The women in office were almost speechless, for few had ever seen that particular color of rose before. Some ran to their computers to bring up the meaning of a dark blue rose. The widow was very puzzled and when the researchers came back to tell the woman what they had found, the older supervisor was even more shocked. A deep blue rose denotes mystery and intrigue. The story continues at the end of this blog, but this general scenario is played out each day across America as people stop and stare at a fresh flower delivery, because in most cases, it is a breath of kindness, love, sympathy or some other emotion that usually doesn't appear much in the marketplaces of America. The dog eat dog world of commerce and business won't allow for too many of these tender feelings, so others unabashedly stare as the garden beauties make their way to a usually fortunate person, wondering what the story is behind the delivery.

An unexpected interruption in the middle of an ordinary day, a highly stressful day, or on a day of planned celebration can be really negative or really powerful. For the person who has had surgery, or the person who is facing surgery, or the patient who is just finishing tying the shoes that will take him/her home after a long stay, hospital flower delivery is a cool drink on a very hot desert afternoon. Oftentimes a hospital flower delivery creates a sense of wonder with the patient because there can be an overwhelming sense of gratitude and surprise that a person would take the time to care so much. When the visiting hours are over and the hospital cable isn't very entertaining, the opportunity to sit and gaze upon a fresh flower delivery brought to a lonely hospital room is a recuperative oasis. Since sleep is sometimes hard to obtain in the hospital, the presence of floral displays can make the long hours pass more quickly.

Dozens of florist delivery services will pop up when searching for fresh flower delivery services on the Internet. The websites offer incredible convenience for the busy buyer. With just a mouse click or two, and of course a credit card, a New York housewife can send over a dozen different types of orchids from an online hospital flower delivery service to an aging mom in a San Francisco healthcare facility within a matter of a few hours. To the mother who is hurting on that day, those beautiful flowers can be as if the daughter just stepped into the room from across the country. Add to that an intimate phone conversation later in the day between daughter and mom, which would include a detailed description of the orchid arrangement, and the whole process really becomes a personal visit.

One of the exciting things about hospital flower delivery, which, if ordered before a specific time, can be guaranteed the same day in most cases, is the ability to go online and actually look at the arrangement being sent. Coupled with the fact that fresh flower floral can bring countless varieties of flowers, vases, and other small gift items to homes, healthcare facilities, and offices in just a few hours time and the choice to send a swath of floral rainbow almost becomes a moot point. Themed flower arrangements can be delivered to children at school, friends on vacation, salespeople in Istanbul, and new business partners in Nome. Bringing a slice of happiness to people has never been easier. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of the darkness into his marvelous light." (I Peter 2:9)

The widowed woman was stunned to hear that dark blue roses from a fresh flower delivery service had arrived at the office. But the reason for the roses was because after four years of being alone after her husband's death, she finally took a cruise with a number of others from a class at her church. Since other churches' members were also onboard, it was a time of fun and fellowship. Through the week at sea, she met several widowers who caught her eye. But none of them seemed interested in her. Unbeknownst to the widow, a certain lonely man from a southern state found out all about her from her friends, and decided to begin a romantic long distance relationship, beginning with blue roses that certainly had a mystery to them. In the months to come, the delivered roses would begin to turn white, to pink, and then a phone call would occur.
