What does it take to install the H.I.D. system?
XeVision H.I.D. systems can be installed in an airplane in less than 1/2 day. To replace an existing 100 Watt standard landing lamp, it takes approx. 2 hours. Simply replace the existing lamp with the appropriate XeVision H.I.D. lamp, plug the H.I.D. ballast into the bulb, and connect the H.I.D. ballast power wires (2) to the original wiring harness. Mount and secure the ballast preferably to the firewall (engine side) or other suitable locations close to the lamp. Our XeVision H.I.D. kits are the highest in quality, including, the connectors used are that of high quality AMP silicone connectors. These connectors are water repellent and keyed to insure proper polarity connection. Since there is no filament involved, H.I.
What is MIL-P-7788 or SAE AS7788?
This document is the governing specification for the construction and manufacture of lightplates. MIL-P-7788 was originally released as a military standard but in 1999 the maintenance of the specification was taken over by SAE and the document number was changed to SAE AS7788.A:LED emergency lights use less energy than emergency lights with traditional fluorescent bulbs and contain less harmful waste. LED lights are also longer lasting than tubes. Whilst Cadmium for use in emergency lighting is currently still allowed, our range of LED emergency lighting products only uses NiMH batteries, which are more environmentally friendly. Government financial assistance is also available to switch to low energy emergency lighting and exit signs, see The color of a light is determined by its color temperature.
Why do H.I.D. lighting systems have a slight bluish light component?
The color of a light is determined by its color temperature. The arc across the Xenon (and other metal halides) filled electrodes inside of the capsule give off a cooler color temperature (4,100 K) that is closer to true white. So when you compare the color incandescent or halogen lights against the color of H.I.D. lights, the H.I.D. beam look blue/white and the halogen or standard lights appear more yellow.Absolutely, but there are too many to mention here.
Is enLux working on any other products?
Absolutely, but there are too many to mention here. LED lighting is broadly seen as the future of lighting. enLux engineers are hard at work to bring the benefits of LED lighting to a multitude of applications. The pre-travel is the distance the button moves before the switch actuates. The force is the amount of force that must be applied to the pushbutton before it actuates. Additional characteristics that are sometimes defined are over travel, residual force, and total travel.

CNC milling centers are used to machine acrylic panels and the circuit board. Automated paint machines and patented CCD camera/computer systems are used for applying the paint. Indicia (panel legends, logos and graphics) are applied using a patented laser etching process. Spectroradiometers and/or photometers are used for color and luminance verification throughout the production process.
How can I light up the Annex easily?
New LED lighting in strips sewn on to the Silver reflective canvas with Velcro backing is available in 1.2m lengths that are perfect for the Annex area. The illumination level is controlled via power regulation from the lighting dimming controller unit/units to each illuminated panel. As the pilot dims or brightens the panels via a single control or control per logical area in the cockpit, the dimming controller units send out a uniform amount of current to each panel to achieve consistency in lighting for brightness and uniformity.
