After months of discussions Google has decided not to run AdWords on Yahoo. Turns out the Justice Department was getting really serious about challenging the deal on antitrust grounds. So, it seems like Google did not feel like a long legal fight. Plus, the deal to run AdWords on Yahoo was not popular with AdWords advertisers.
Where does this leave Yahoo? Not in a good position. They will not get the extra revenue, and maybe Microsoft may come back shopping for them. If they do Microsoft can expect to pay way less than their last offer.
