Lose Weight - Lewis Hamilton? You Must Be Joking!

Lewis Hamilton is the youngest ever Formula 1 World Champion. At 23 he has the world at his feet. But isn't it amazing how true talent always shines through?

Sometimes it's difficult to understand what goes into the making of a world champion. We forget the hard work and sacrifice that it entails. But what does it really take to be a world champion? What about self-discipline, determination, self-confidence, dedication, effort, practice and to be unswervingly single-minded?

All world champions have something to teach us. Even if our goal is as mundane as wanting to lose weight - something Lewis Hamilton doesn't have to do. If we want to succeed at anything we have to follow his example - perhaps not to the same intensity, but follow it we must.

When it comes to losing weight, unless we set our minds to achieving our goal, we will never achieve it. Everything that is worthwhile requires effort.

When you are offered a diet or a weight loss program that looks too easy and promises super quick weight loss, you should be on your guard! You can be sure of one thing it will never deliver permanent weight loss. Off will come a few pounds and in a few weeks they'll be back with you again.

In order to lose weight permanently you have to use some of Lewis Hamilton's disciplines. Determination and single-mindedness would be two good ones to start with. If you set your mind to it, you will succeed and your self-confidence will soar as a result.

This may seem a tough call, but it's not as bad as it sounds. What you need is a program that will help you to make change and give you support at the same time. Permanent weight loss is really only possible if you are prepared to make personal change and learn to live your life in a different way - in other words you make things happen rather than letting things happen to you!

So, a weight loss program that is going to really work has got to address habit change and offer you support. If you want to lose weight - permanently, get the habit - the slim habit
