More than half of staff of firms at Ho Chi Minh City’s export processing zones and industrial parks had low levels of education, according to a survey by the municipal Department of Science and Technology.
Of the staff 429 businesses surveyed, 51% had low levels of education, the department said Tuesday.
Only 1% the firms’ employees had high levels of education and 36 percent had average levels.
At Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, where foreign-invested enterprises made up the majority of firms, 61% of the surveyed businesses had low education levels.
The survey found 11% of employees had completed high school and 6% had a university degree. (TN)
