Deputy general director Hoang Trung Hai ordered state agencies and ministries to carry out the capital arrangement measures to speed up construction on 13 coal fed thermo power plants that were rejected by Electricity of Vietnam in the end of last September.
Just in the fourth quarter of 2008, EVN had to arrange capital and directed relevant units to start work on Mong Duong 1 thermo power plant. At the same time, Ministry of Industry and Trade was assigned to monitor EVN and AES Group to carry out the Mong Duong power project in Quang Ninh province in Q1 of 2009.
As for Thai Binh 1 and 2, EVN in conjunction with PetroVietnam will begin the projects as per the schedule.
In this month, Thanh Hoa provincial People's Committee will have to finish the compensation, resettlement stage and report implementation speed of Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant to the government.
As for Nghi Son 2 power project, the ministry is allowed to select contractor and grant investment certificate under the current laws.
Moreover, the ministry ordered China Southern Power Grid Co Ltd (hereinafter referred to as CSG) to report the investment preparation for Vinh Tan 1, 2 thermo power projects. The joint stock company (established under the cooperation of EVN, One Energy, Pacific Corp) was asked to complete investment procedures for Vinh Tan 3 plant construction and guide Malaysia's Janakusa Group to conduct Duyen Hai 2 power project.
