Fresh Content is Vital to a Website

By Calvin Preston

It is a fact that Google and other search engines value content. This concept can be frustrating, as filling up some sites with content is not really natural, necessary, or valuable to the end user. Of course, in many cases it is very valuable, but there are only so many leather buying guides I want to see when I'm shopping for a wallet; it gets overdone really quickly. The fact is that content needs to be continually added to any site that needs to rank. So here are some basic ideas for how to incorporate continuous content into your site.

1. Blogs- Every site could stand to have a blog added in its format. You don't need to have one, but if you can, by all means, add one. Be sure to link the blog to your homepage and to highlight the most current articles on your homepage, as well. You may think you don't have anything to blog about, but here are some ideas to change your mind.

2. A collection of articles: these can be organized as resources on your site, categorized using your keywords, and continually updated.

3. User generated content: Making use of customer review can come in handy, you can offer coupons for the service, customer testimonials, suggestions and top5 lists are good, as well.

4. Companies that are related to yours, with a small paragraph about them and affiliate links can also create revenue.

If you try any of these simple strategies, you will increase the value of your site in Google's eyes, while creating more interesting content for your end user.
