2007: Coal exports posted over 32 million tons

In 2007, the amount of clean coal achieved an estimate of 41.19 million tons, an increase of 11.5 percent over the same period last year, with a consumption amount of 41.1 million tons, up 9 percent, according to a report by the coal sector.

Of this, the country consumed about 17 million tons, up 6 percent and exported more than 32 million tons, up 11 percent. In 2007, the coal sector supplied enough coal for domestic production and consumption demand.

In 2008, the coal sector focuses some issues such as: further investing into technology renovation, promoting pit exploitation, performing solutions to save resources, developing projects in electricity and mineral, and combining coal exploitation with environment protection.
