Speeding up the Son La Hydropower Plant project

A meeting to review the implementation of the Son La Hydropower Plant project among members of the State Project Management Steering Board, ministries and provincial people’s committees of Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau, as well as representatives of the project realizing units has just been held.

Chairing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai asked central and local bodies and entrepreneurs to bring their strengths into full play, overcome possible difficulties and draw lessons from their mistakes and weaknesses.

He also assigned tasks and set objectives for 2009 to specific bodies and units.

In the evening session, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the 3 involved provinces to speed up site clearing for construction.

Provinces were also asked to provide specific instructions on coldness prevention of livestock for local people.

For their part, ministries, provinces and entrepreneurs proposed faster capital disbursement to realize subprojects of the Son La Hydropower Plant project as scheduled.
