Minh Hai Seafood Joint Stock Co (Seaprodex Minh Hai) reported that it recently exported the first shipment of 2008 including 16 tonnes of shrimp worth over US$252,000 to the US market.
In addition, the firm also signed a long term contract to supply 10-15 containers of processed shrimp a month to an US partner.
The company's director Nguyen Thien Hai said that its seafood exports last year brought in more than US$58 million. Seaprodex Minh Hai is one of seafood processors subject to check exemption as exporting to Japan.
In order to increase export turnover, Seaprodex Minh Hai invested 76 billion dong in building Lang Tram seafood factory with a designed capacity of processing 5,000 tonnes a year. (VNA)
