By Juble.com

If you have ever dreamt of a Texas vacation, then you are likely dreaming on the lines of something with horses, cattle, and a rip roaring western good time. Sadly, most of Texas has evolved beyond that and into the average vacation spot with the same attractions that one could get anywhere else. The days of the cowboy, it seems, have sadly fallen away into the annals of vacation history. These days, it is all urban nightlife, hip-hop music and high tech attractions. There is, however, one place in Texas where you can still get that old style Western vacation feel, and that is in Houston Texas at the Houston Rodeo.

The Houston Rodeo generally lasts for somewhere in the area of one month long around the month of March. Though there is much more to this month long event than just cows and horses, that is always the main attraction. You will find yourself sitting in the stands watching some of the world's most renowned riders as they lock horns with some of the worlds meanest long horn steers and bulls and wildest horses. There's nothing that will get your heart pounding faster and harder than that moment when the rider is thrown from the back of the horned steer. Will he make it to safety or be run down by the angry beast? There is only one way to find out, and that is to attend.

During this month, you will also have the opportunity to see the many different types of animal shows. In these you will marvel at the well-trained cows, horses and other animals that battle it out for the various awards and prizes. You will be simply amazed at how the various forms of livestock do their owners bidding by just a hearing a word or seeing a particular motion of the trainer's hand.

There is also a wide variety of entertainment via the many concerts that are undertaken during the month long Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. You won't find lesser known singers and performers at these exciting exhibitions. Only the top of the line entertainers are booked for the event, such as Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Willie nelson, Hannah Montana, George Jones, and Rascal Flatts to name only a few of the past performers.

For the family vacationers, there is a carnival celebration of the rodeo. Here you will find all the more well-known popular carnival rides and attractions. Take a huge trek into the sky on the massive Ferris wheel, ride a roller coaster or two, grab yourself a big bunch of cotton candy and hit the Merry-go-Round. While you are attending this particular aspect of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, make sure to try the many interesting and original gaming booths here. If you can throw a baseball or shoot a water gun, you can be a winner!

If you have always dreamed of donning your cowboy hat and slipping on the cowboy boots and taking a ride out into the old West, then Houston Texas has got your perfect option this year for your family vacation extravaganza. So saddle up this season and head on down to Houston for whooping good western time at the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo.
